PSY Is Going To Release a Worldwide Album In 2013

12:08 PM
So Psy is now set to release a worldwide debut album in 2013, and I’m curious as to how all of this will actually go down.

"PSY will release his worldwide debut album early next year, around February or March, it was reported on November 7. According to the Yonhap News Agency, PSY said at a press conference in Paris that, “I am planning to release a new worldwide album next February or March.”
He added there will be both a Korean and an English version, as it will mark his official worldwide debut. When asked about his “Gangnam Style” flash mob that took place at the Trocardo Square a few days ago, PSY said, “I saw more than 20,000 fans gather and explode in front of me. It’s my first time to see this many people for a flash mob. It was really emotional.”
To be honest, I’m not sure how this will go. I mean, he’ll retain popularity in Korea regardless, but internationally, I’m not sure people will buy in unless he somehow generates another extremely catchy single, which historically seems unlikely.
It’s more likely that he’ll look to duplicate the Far East Movement‘s relative success with “Rocketeer” after “Like A G6“. Even then though, they haven’t been able to repeat their success to anywhere near the same level as their breakout track.
I know you guys are probably on the “he’s a one-hit wonder” train, and the chances still lie strongly in that camp, but that’s still a better career than 99% of the artists out there.
